This solves a real friction point for Android users who get Apple Maps links. The automatic redirection to Google Maps without requiring an app switch is seamless. Most people don't realize how frustrating the Apple Maps experience is on Android - this elegantly handles the UX gap.

Does MapFlip also work with Apple Maps links coming from apps like WhatsApp, Messages or email, or are there certain apps where the redirect does not work?

Yessir! The app listens to Apple Maps links (whether from WhatsApp, SMS, emails, etc.) and automatically redirects them to Google Maps.

One small caveat: Some apps (like Facebook, Instagram, or Gmail) open links in their own in-app browser instead of sending them to the system. In those cases, you just need to tap 'Open in Browser' (usually via the three-dot menu) to trigger the redirect.

I am also thinking about adding support for other map services in the future!

Since MapFlip runs automatically in the background, what happens when an Apple Maps link has extra directions or location details? Does MapFlip keep those details when sending the link to Google Maps?

Of course! The app preserves those details. MapFlip has a built-in parser that reads parameters like start/destination addresses, specific coordinates, and search queries or place names, and translates them into the equivalent Google Maps format. So directions, custom pins, and searches will carry over as intended.
