Uneed Residency #2: Meet the Crew
13 founders, one manor in Nantes, one week together from October 26 to November 2. Meet the crew of the second Uneed Residency, and sign up for the open day or the batch #3 waitlist.
Finally, the second batch of the Uneed Residency is complete ✅
13 founders (plus the 2 sponsors, me, my girlfriend and the cook 😂) will spend a week in a manor in Nantes, France, from October 26 to November 2, working and learning together.
We've got a lot of different profiles, with different strengths, different levels of experience and different types of humor (very important). But we all have one thing in common: we're entrepreneurs, and our goal is to live off our own projects.
It can get pretty lonely though, and that's why these residencies are such a joy to organize. It's super hard to explain the energy and the good vibes a week like this creates. If you missed the first one, here's what batch #1 looked like.

The directory crew
Three residents, one very specific topic: directories. I'm pretty sure the dinner conversations will get nerdy.
Serg Karakhanyan is our first resident. A few years ago, I was building a directory builder called "Directobuild". As always, I changed my mind before properly launching it 😅. Serg was way more efficient (and smarter) than me, and built Directify. Since then, he sold it, took a well-deserved break, and started a new project: Blogr, which grows your website's SEO while you sleep.
Venelin Kochev is the one who bought Directify from Serg. We've been following each other for a long time and I can't wait to finally meet him in real life. Having the seller and the buyer of the same product under one roof is a rare chance to hear both sides of an acquisition.
Piotr Kulpinski closes the directory crew. I've been following Piotr for so many years I don't even remember when it started. I've always admired the care he puts into his products (OpenAlternative, Dirstarter, EuroAlternative...) and how he sticks with them until they work. SEO for the win.
The builders
Elitza Vasileva is building own.page, a personal website builder, and she's crushing it. I first saw her posts less than a year ago and remember thinking "I KNOW she's going to make it!" She was at the Hacker Residency earlier this year, and now she's joining us in France.
Sylvain Obegi works from the same coworking space as me in Nantes. He traveled a lot before landing here a year ago, and he's working on an AI assistant for ADHD, plus a secret project I can't tell you about yet 🤫. He fixed my router, and sometimes he even fixes my English.
Lilian lives off their own products while traveling the world, which is pretty much the dream of everyone else in the house. Expect a lot of questions about how to make that work.
The returning residents
Some people liked batch #1 so much they're coming back 🥰
Oleksandra Lysenko and Dmytro Bavykin were the very first residents we introduced last spring (read their story). Oleksandra is behind PredictionJar, and Dmytro has shipped SimplePoo and DeepPrep since.
Emanuele Totaro keeps a low profile, but he's a star at TikTok marketing (I hope you'll bring at least 30 phones this time, bro). He built and sold mobile apps, made more money than I have in my entire life, and still works like crazy. He's also one of the best storytellers I've ever met.
Nicolas Papegaey is an indie iOS developer and former product manager, building a portfolio of apps. You can read his batch #1 introduction here.
The experienced ones
Pete is the most motivated person I know: during batch #1, he flew from Scotland to France just to attend our open day 🤯. He has a rare profile among solo founders, focused on newsletters, SEO and ghostwriting (High Signal is his). Many residents will want his advice.
Emmanuel Marboeuf has an incredible story. He spent 10 years in San Francisco as co-founder and CTO, and scaled his company past $9M ARR. Now he's back in France (in Nantes actually 🫶🏻) building BWorlds, the always-on platform behind your app. As indie hackers, we have a lot to learn from him.
Dorian Ouvrard is Emmanuel's co-founder at BWorlds, and the AI engineer and tech lead of the duo. Two founders from the same startup in the house means we'll see how a team works, not just solo founders.

Open day: Thursday, October 30
Like last time, we're opening the doors for a day. On Thursday, October 30, the manor is open to the French product scene: come meet the residents, see what they're building and talk products with founders who ship.
