Meet the Residents #1: Alexandra & Dmytro

First post of our daily series introducing the 10 residents joining the Uneed Residency in Nantes, France. Meet Alexandra, a content creator turned vibe-coder, and Dmytro, a Ruby dev who shipped an iOS app.

This is the first post of our daily series introducing the 10 residents joining the Uneed Residency in Nantes, France, from May 26 to June 2.

Some duos just make sense.

Alexandra is a content creator turned builder. She's been exploring emerging tech for a while, and at some point, watching from the sidelines wasn't enough anymore β€” she wanted to build. So she did. She's currently finishing a community platform (details under wraps until launch), built entirely through vibe coding. No traditional dev background. Just curiosity, speed, and a bias for action.

Dmytro is a software engineer. His background is in web development (Ruby, of all things), but that didn't stop him from jumping into iOS after a single Udemy course. One day, Alexandra came to him with a simple app idea. That app became SimplePoo β€” a private, no-nonsense gut health tracker. The app already has 700+ downloads and 28 sales, and the distribution challenge is what keeps him up at night.

What's fun about them is the dynamic: Alexandra vibe-codes her way through a full product, and when things get tricky, she turns to Dmytro β€” who himself vibe-coded his way into a language he'd never used before. There's a pattern here.

Alexandra's project

A community platform currently in final development, launching to real users in the coming weeks. Her biggest challenge: making sure it creates real long-term value and finding the right monetization model. During the residency, she wants to validate whether the core idea resonates beyond her existing audience and find the right early community to seed the platform.

Dmytro's project

SimplePoo β€” a simple and private gut health / poop tracker. ~15K impressions, 700+ downloads, 28 sales so far. His biggest challenge is distribution. He's coming to the residency to observe how other builders approach their market, automate their workflows, and use LLMs in practice.

Why we're excited to have them

Alexandra and Dmytro are doing something we don't often see in the indie hacking community: working together. They're also bringing something really important to the group: youth!! They're starting their entrepreneurship journey really early in their lifes, and the fact that they're willing to hope on a flight and meet other builders in another country is just a proof of how motivated they are. Tbh with you, I don't think I would have been capable of that when I was their age πŸ˜….

See you soon for resident #2. πŸ‘‹

Best,

Thomas from Uneed
