Been using SimpleLogin for a while but the two-way reply feature here caught my eye. Does the recipient literally only see the mask address when I reply? That's a big deal for me.

Yep, exactly; when you reply through a mask, the recipient only ever sees the mask address. Your real email is never exposed in headers or anything else. It works both ways too, so you can have full conversations through a mask without the other side knowing your actual address.

the pay-per-email model is smart. I set up masks for like 30 services but most of them barely send anything. Way better than paying a flat $5/mo for volume I don't use. Nice work on the pricing.

Most people have a long tail of masks that get maybe 1-2 emails a month. Paying a flat rate for that felt wrong. Glad the model clicks. thanks for the kind words.

How does this compare to Apple's Hide My Email? I already get that with iCloud+ but the custom domain support is interesting since I own a domain I'm not using.

Hide My Email is solid if you're all-in on Apple.

The Main differences is: Maskmail works across any email provider, you can bring your own custom domain (so masks look like [email protected] instead of a random string), and you get two-way replies. If you've got a domain sitting around, it's a good fit.

$0.99/mo base is honestly refreshing. So tired of every privacy tool charging $5+/mo for basic functionality. Bookmarked, gonna try this over the weekend.

Appreciate that! Most people create a bunch of masks but only actually receive a handful of emails through them. Didn't feel right charging a flat $5 for that. Hope you like it once you give it a spin.
