ChessAtlas
ChessAtlas is a chess opening trainer that helps you build, memorize, and actually retain your opening repertoire using spaced repetition.
What it does
Most players learn an opening, feel confident, then blank out the moment a real game leaves the first few moves. ChessAtlas fixes that by treating your repertoire as something you train, not just something you read.
- Build or fork a repertoire. Create your own courses move by move, or fork a ready-made course from the library and make it yours.
- Import your games. Pull your games straight from Lichess or Chess.com (or paste a PGN) so your training is based on what you actually play.
- Find your deviations. ChessAtlas compares your real games against your repertoire and flags exactly where you went off book, so you drill the mistakes that cost you points.
- Train with spaced repetition. Lines are scheduled with the FSRS algorithm, the same modern approach used by serious memory tools, so you review each position right before you would forget it.
- Practice the way you play. The opponent moves auto-play and you respond, so training feels like a real game instead of flipping flashcards.
Who it is for
- Club players who keep losing the thread once the opening ends.
- Anyone rebuilding or expanding a repertoire and tired of forgetting lines a week later.
- Players who want their study time to map directly onto their own games.
Platforms
- Web app at app.chessatlas.net
- Native mobile apps for iOS and Android
- Available in English, French, Spanish, and German
Why it is different
ChessAtlas is not a database or a video course. It is a training loop: import your games, see where your repertoire breaks, then drill those exact positions with spaced repetition until they stick. The goal is simple, remember your openings when it matters, in your own games.
