Hi all!
I'm Tom, and I have severe ADHD.
I knew I needed to calm my racing mind, and after talking to other ADHDers, I learned that breathing work is one of the most effective tools we have. So I tried countless breathing apps to guide my practice, but none of them worked for me.
The problem? Other breathing apps have too many distractions for people with ADHD. I couldn't focus on my breathing for more than a few seconds before my eyes or ears would latch onto something else, anything that seemed more urgent than the breath itself.
What I needed was guidance that wouldn't lose to any interference, something that would anchor my attention no matter what.
That's why I built WatchBreath.
WatchBreath is a free, Apple Watch-only app that guides you through breathing exercises using haptics and visuals designed for different mental states.
Box Breathing (4•4•4•4)
The 4x4 breathing technique used by Navy SEALs to achieve sustained outward focus and mental clarity during high-pressure situations.
Deep Breathing (6•0•6)
A 6x6 rhythm that brings attention inward, helping you reconnect with how you're actually feeling in the moment.
Wind Down (4•7•8)
This proven sleep-prep method shifts your body into rest mode, dramatically reducing the time it takes to fall asleep—especially helpful for those of us with constantly running thoughts.
