Going after suppressed and hidden emotion rather than surface sentiment is the harder half of this problem, how do you validate those signals?

Great question. Validation is the part and we built Subtle Sense around that challenge.

Here is how we validate:

1. Linguistic Cues

We analyze what you say and what you do not say. We look for patterns in phrasing, hesitation markers and emotional distance. The unsaid is often louder than the spoken.

2. Behavioral Signals

We track behavioral shifts: pauses, repeated phrases and emotional contradictions. When someone says "I'm fine" but hedges repeatedly the system flags the mismatch.

3. Feedback Loops

Every user is invited to confirm or reject our reading. "Does this resonate?" If yes we learn. If no we learn. This creates a validation loop.

4. Ground Truth

We are actively validating against established frameworks (e.g., emotional granularity affect labeling) and comparing our outputs to clinical assessments in partnership with therapists.

The truth: We are not perfect.. We are iterating. We are building a feedback loop that gets smarter, with every user who tells us whether we got it right or wrong.

Would love to hear your thoughts. If you try it let me know if it resonates.
