Hey everyone, I am excited (and a little nervous) to share something I've been building solo for the past several months: SmartRolePath.
The idea came from watching how brutal career transitions can be. You know you want to change paths, but you don't know what's realistic, what skills transfer, or where to even start. Most tools either give you generic advice or expect you to already know the answer.
SmartRolePath uses AI to actually map that out for you and it analyzes your background, shows you realistic career paths, and builds a personalized, step-by-step roadmap broken into clear phases so it doesn't feel like an impossible mountain. Over 14,200 analyses have been run so far, and the thing I hear back most often is some version of "I finally feel like I have a plan."
We just went global and SmartRolePath now supports the UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore, South Africa, and India, alongside the US. Job data, salary context, and roadmap guidance are all localized per country, not just translated.
A few things I'm proud of under the hood:
Step-by-step roadmaps that adapt to how much time you actually have each week
Full country-specific support across 7 countries now, with local job markets and currency built in
A job search panel pulling from multiple real job APIs, not just one feed
A free tier that's genuinely useful, not a bait-and-switch
I built this as a solo dev/consultant, so every bit of feedback genuinely shapes what gets built next. If you're navigating a career change — or know someone who is — I'd love for you to take a look and tell me what's missing.
Would really appreciate an upvote and, even more, your honest take in the comments. 🙏
