The job radar is where I'd expect the most pain. We crawl a few dozen boards for a niche job site, and the same opening often shows up four or five times: the employer's careers page, two aggregators, and a recruiting agency that strips the company name. Without dedupe a candidate sees one role as five matches and sometimes applies twice. How do you collapse reposts, and which copy do you send people to?
Spot on, duplicates are one of the hardest parts of a job radar. We already merge the same role coming from different boards within a search. Cross-board reposts over time and agency listings without a company name still slip through, and that's next on our list, along with preferring the employer's own posting. Thanks for raising it!
@ResumeQuick agency copies were the worst for us too. In our listings they usually keep the original text and only cut the employer name, so comparing the requirements paragraph catches them better than title plus company. Will you show the candidate that two listings are the same job, or just hide the extra copies?
We just hide them. One role should be one card, so we keep a single copy, ideally the one that leads to the employer's own posting.
