A newsletter ad network
Sooo the first idea is a newsletter ad network! The idea is to connect newsletters with advertisers. Like tinyadz.com, but focused on newsletter.
Why?
- It's super complicated to find advertisers for a newsletter
- It's super complicated to find good newsletter who share their numbers etc
- Ads will never stop, and newsletter are still going super strong. AI won't hurt you!
How? Don't build the platform too quickly!! First thing you wanna do is find your first newsletters. This won't be complicated, and cold reach will probably work super well. Just tell newsletter creators (you can start with me and @petecodes for example!) you will help them to find advertisers. Theeen the most complicated part will be to find advertisers. One thing that could work, is to reach out to small/medium companies that are already doing some paid ads, like on Uneed, TrustMRR, Outbid etc.
Once you make your first sale, game is on, and it will all be about marketing. Share ALL the sales you make the first months, share the clicks, the revenue from the advertisers if you can know it, share when a newletter join your network etc. The goal is to build a brand, so that advertisers start to TRUST you.
This is a project than CAN work, but which will require a lot of marketing: outreach and intense communication from the start, to be able to fight against the "marketplace effect" (too many newsletters and not enough advertisers for example). But keep in mind that the market is absolutely HUGE, that your customers can perfectly be using one of your competitors and still pay you money, and that once it starts to grow, it can basically grow autonomously!
The business model will be straightforward. You'll have 2 choices: either asking for a commission on each sale, or ask the newsletters to pay a subscription. You'll have to study what your competitors are doing, but I bet the commission is the best choice! Starting for free might be a good idea if you're patient.
