BlackTwist Review - The #1 assistant for Threads

The platform has been growing rapidly since its launch, but the native tools for content creators and businesses are still quite limited. You're stuck manually posting, losing track of your content calendar, and flying blind when it comes to performance analytics.

There are A LOT of scheduling tools out there, and some of them handle Threads. But every social media platform is different, has its own rules, limitations and features.

That's exactly where BlackTwist comes in with a laser-focused approach: instead of trying to be everything for every social platform, it's built specifically for Threads (and now Bluesky too!) power users who want professional-grade tools without the bloat.

BlackTwist is crafted by two indie hackers I've been following for years - Mattia Righetti and Luca Restagno.

Getting Started & First Impressions

Setting up BlackTwist is straightforward. You connect your Threads account, and you're immediately dropped into a clean interface.

This interface follows a minimalist philosophy I personally love. As you will see, there are a lot of features, but not only they're all there for a reason, they're often cleverly hidden: you will only discover them when you need them.

Content Creation & Scheduling

The first thing we want to see and try is the writing experience. I found the integrated editor to be quite good! There's a nice emoji picker, and I do love my emojis 👀

But if you look closely (don't hesitate to click on the image to see it in full size), you'll see a few interesting things on this screen:

• You can save and access your drafts from here.
• You can of course, publish your post or schedule it for later.
• You also have a nice preview feature! This is very useful to see how your post will look like on Threads, and make sure you're not missing anything. This feature is actually very complete: you can preview your post on different devices, as a Thread or as a timeline.

The scheduling part doesn't disappoint either 😄! A bit like Todoist, you can schedule your post by typing a "natural" date and time, or by using the calendar and inputs.

The Calendar view

The second most important screen we want to test is the calendar view. Pretty classic among social media schedulers, this allows you to see your scheduled content at a glance.

But it's not just a simple "view": you can drag and drop posts to change their order, you can edit them, create and schedule new posts, and more!

If you look closely at the top of the image above, you can also see that you can manage ALL your Threads accounts posts from here! That's a feature I've never seen before on a social media scheduler! Very handy when you manage multiple accounts.

I bet this is the most used screen by most users 😄!

Analytics That Actually Matter

BlackTwist's analytics section is where the platform shows its maturity. Instead of overwhelming you with vanity metrics, it focuses on the data that actually helps you grow your presence.

The analytics dashboard provides several key insights:

Core Metrics: You get a clear overview of your profile views, engagement rate, likes, and replies over time. The visual graphs make it easy to spot trends and understand what's working.

Posting Performance: Track how many posts, reposts, and quotes you've published, along with their performance compared to previous periods. This helps you understand which content types resonate most with your audience.

Growth Tracking: The follower growth chart shows your progress over time, with both cumulative and daily views. You can easily see the impact of your content strategy on your follower count.

Streak Monitoring: One feature I particularly love is the posting streak tracker - it gamifies consistency and helps you maintain regular posting habits. In the screenshots, you can see Mattia's impressive 213-day streak!

Shareable Reports: A recent addition is the "Share as image" feature, which lets you easily export your analytics as professional-looking images - perfect for sharing achievements or reporting to clients.

The time period filters (7 days, 14 days, 1 month, 3 months, etc.) give you flexibility in analyzing both short-term campaigns and long-term growth trends.

The Engager

One of BlackTwist's most significant recent additions is the Engager screen, which transforms how you manage your Threads interactions.

First, you can respond to your own comments directly from BlackTwist, without switching back to the Threads app! How handy is that?

Secondly, behind the "Lists" tab, you can create curated lists of accounts you want to engage with regularly. Think of it as your VIP community members, friends, peers, or potential collaborators you want to stay connected with 👀.

Here's where it gets really smart: you can set your engagement timer for whatever duration works for you (30 minutes is the default duration), hit start, and then directly access the accounts from your lists to engage with their latest posts. The timer keeps you focused and prevents you from falling into the endless scroll trap.

Currently, this opens the accounts in Threads, but I'm pretty sure BlackTwist will soon allow you to engage directly within the application, which would be absolutely game-changing 🔥!

Pricing

I find the pricing to be pretty generous! As a solo creator for example, you pay only $12 for an unlimited usage + 5 accounts (Threads and Bluesky). Not bad!

Conclusion

That's the end of this BlackTwist review! After spending time with the platform, I'm genuinely impressed by how it manages to be both simple and powerful - a combination that's surprisingly rare these days (who said AI's fault??)!

BlackTwist succeeds because it resists the temptation to become a bloated, all-in-one solution. Instead, it does one thing exceptionally well: making Threads management professional, efficient, and enjoyable.
