Quoto is a beautiful macOS menu bar app that keeps you informed about your z.ai API usage, so you never hit an unexpected quota limit again.
Why I built Quoto
As a developer using z.ai, I kept running into quota limits without warning. I'd be deep into a project, hit a wall, and realize I'd burned through my limits ages ago without realising. There was no easy way to check my usage without opening a browser and logging into a dashboard every time. So I built Quoto, a lightweight, always viewable monitor that lives in your macOS menu bar.
What it does
Real time monitoring: See all your z.ai quota limits at a glance with colour coded progress bars that shift from green to red as you approach your limits
Usage history: View your usage patterns over 7, 14, or 30 days with clean line charts
Auto refresh: Set custom refresh intervals (of your choice) so your data is always up to date
Fully customisable: Choose which limits to display and which order they appear in
Secure & private: Your API key is stored in macOS Keychain. No data is sent to any third party servers. Everything stays on your device
Launch at login: Start monitoring automatically when your Mac boots up
Who it's for
Quoto is for any developer or power user who relies on z.ai and wants to stay on top of their API usage without context switching. If you've ever been surprised by a quota limit, Quoto is for you.
Built natively for macOS
Quoto is a native SwiftUI app designed for macOS 14+. It lives in your menu bar, stays out of your way, and only pops up when you need it.
