The reselling market has exploded in recent years, with sneakers, streetwear, watches, and collectibles becoming legitimate investment assets. But managing a serious reselling business involves juggling inventory, tracking profits, monitoring market prices, and coordinating listings across multiple platforms - a complexity that most generic tools simply can't handle.

After spending a few hours exploring and testing the platform, I can say it's one of the most feature-rich products I've ever tested. The onboarding process reflects the product itself: it's very comprehensive (sorry the AI-like word πŸ˜…)! Rather than jumping straight into the platform, you're guided through a multi-step setup to configure Retailed for your specific needs.

This initial setup demonstrates Retailed's understanding that reselling isn't a one-size-fits-all business. Different markets have different requirements, and the team behind Retailed know it 😎.

Upon completing setup, you're greeted with a sophisticated (but empty!) dashboard.

The main interface provides real-time metrics including:

  • Inventory Value: Total value of your stock with period-over-period changes
  • Sales Tracking: Revenue, profit margins, and cost of goods sold
  • Performance Analytics: Comprehensive reporting across different time periods

The left sidebar navigation uses an icon-based system. Each section (Inventory, Sales, Listings, Analytics, etc.) houses extensive functionality. The first thing you gotta do is to understand those different sections and how they work.

How Retailed works

Before using Retailed, you have different concepts to grasp:

  • The inventory is where you manage your items in stock, eg what you own.
  • The listings are the items you have for sale on the marketplaces. An item can be listed on multiple marketplaces, so you can have multiple listings for the same item!
  • Your sales are the items you have sold.
  • The packages are the items you have in transit.

You can also manage your subscriptions and your expenses with Retailed πŸ”₯!

As you can see, there's a lot of things to manage. If your activity is simple and limited to a few usecases and items, it's easily manageable through Retailed's interface: they did a great job with the design and the UX, and there are a lot of things that are automatically done for you.

However, for most complexe reselling operations, you will probably need to use the API to automate your workflows. I also heard that Retailed is planning to add a lot of automation features in the future, so it's worth keeping an eye on!

Listing Creation & Management

Adding items to your inventory can be done manually or by leveraging Retailed's scrapping abilities πŸ‘€.

If you choose to create a custom product, you'll have to fill in the details manually:

BUT there's a shortcut! You can use the "Search" field to search for a product by name, brand, colorway, size, etc. Retailed has its own database of products, but also integrates with other databases like Vinted, StockX, Alias and Chrono24. Pretty cool, right? πŸ‘‡πŸ»

Once your listing is created, you can its details by clicking on it. And on this page, there's a lot going on!
