lidawake is a macOS menu-bar app that keeps your Mac awake with the lid closed — for letting an overnight job or a download finish with no monitor attached, or working on an external monitor once you're off the charger.

Keeping a Mac awake is easy. Stopping safely is the product. That setting belongs to macOS, not to lidawake — if nothing puts it back, it stays. lidawake watches heat and battery and hands sleep back if either goes wrong, when you quit, and even if the app crashes. Open the lid and it tells you what happened while you were away.
